Quotes from Crestpark Residents

Allie Beth Allman

Crestpark was originally opened in the 1950’s as a hotel. People loved the location and the service so much, they began leasing on a long-term basis. When the tenants had to vacate in 1999 for renovation, many had been there for 40 years or more.

Crestpark has wonderful memories for many, many families. It continues to have the feel of a large family. One family has placed their piano in the community room to provide beautiful music regularly that can be heard as you enter the front door.

The age of the owners is a wonderful variety, just like the Highland Park neighborhood. We have a family with a newborn, several with preschool and school age children, and many empty nesters. Crestpark thinks of itself as one big family with regular social events and catered dinners once a month.

Crestpark comprises 133 homes located in the heart of old Highland Park, one of the best and prettiest neighborhoods in the United States, in walking distance to one of the nations best-known shopping centers, Highland Park Village, and one block from Whole Foods Market. Due to Highland Park zoning restrictions, the views from Crestpark will never be blocked, nor can there ever be another high-rise built in Highland Park. Understandably, the turnover rate at the Crestpark has been less than 3% per year.

I was very fortunate when Sammons Corporation asked me to be the Realtor to sell the “new” Crestpark. I have sold the original 133 homes and have resold 30. I loved the location and the feel of the building so much that my husband, Pierce Allman, and I decided to sell our home of 20 years and make the Crestpark our new home. We have loved our new home, as well as the people who live here and the wonderful caring staff.

I would love to help you find the perfect home at the Crestpark.

From the classic architecture of the 1950’s, to the elegant interior that is second to none, the Crestpark in Highland Park is a hidden palace amongst the glamour of a big city. When my wife, Jessica and I stumbled upon this hidden treasure, we knew that it would be more than the ideal place to call home, as well as raise our soon-to-be-son. Safety, security, and warmth combine with majesty, and just the right amount of comfort and luxury to create the ambience designed in our home. When the Crestpark comes to mind, I begin to imagine a world that is no longer in existence. The epic film, “Gone With the Wind,” best portrays my first impression. As a distraught Clark Gable so eloquently proclaims, “I’m through with everything here, I want to see if there is anything left of life and charm and grace.” And deep within the realm of Highland Park, lies just that. Jessica and I feel as though we are royalty every time we pass through the Crestpark double doors, and we know our precious son. Prescott, will too.

I love the Crestpark! We both do. Bill and I moved in last week and we already feel at home and have met a lot of our lovely, new neighbors. Our neighbor from downstairs brought us flowers and blueberry pie! It is this gentility and beautiful sense of community that was begun with his gesture. Crestpark’s staff, management and board are outstanding in caring for us and have been exceptional.

We look forward to happy times at the Crestpark and getting to know everyone. We wondered if it would feel lonely, having never lived in a high-rise before and, I am happy to say that it is the total opposite – a cozy, safe feeling of community abounds.
